In the straits yesterday, only had one strip our bait. Game warden we talked to didn’t see any caught when we talked to him. Pretty nasty run out early AM.

Not a good day at all, it all started bad  :bash:

Top off the tank and headed to pick up my buddy. Battery light came on, and message on the dash, low voltage.  Hooked up the boat headed down the road and the red light came back on and truck went in to "power save mode" (what ever that is) checked the voltage, only 11 volts comming out of alt.  :dunno:
Headed back to Dusty house, hooked up his truck and off we went, only an hour later then planned.
Launch at John Wayne, ran out to DB as fast we could, and that wasn't very fast, it was a bit rough. Dropped shrim pots and Dusty was getting sea sick, and once that happens, he's done. So we headed behind the island to calmer waters to see if his stomach would settle down. We waited about an hour and half, he was spent, so we grabbed the pots and  called it a day.  Pulled 197 shrimp in 4 pots, not bad considering south sound sucked was for shrimp on the opener for us....  :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Fish checker said several boats came back because the waters were to rough, 2 other boats were pulling out for the same reason before we pulled in.

Got home, pulled the alt. from the truck and $271 later, it's all better  :bash:

Going to PA in the morning, hope it's much better.

Tried Burrows Bay yesterday. No action. Didnt see anyone catchin anything. Most people pulled out by noon.

Talked to the fish catcher and she said she had counted 0 butts.

No dice out of Ft. Casey, checker on Friday said they hadn't seen a fish.

I did catch what possibly could have been the state record dogfish.  At the boat, it bit straight through 100 pound mono with a protective sleeve over it and did a self release.

Got skunked on Friday, to rough to get on the ocean so we fished the garbage dump. 200 boats there and i didnt see a single fish caught by 2pm.

On Sunday we got out on the ocean in area 4. I went to a spot about 8 miles off Tatoosh. We hit 12 halibut in two drifts and picked through them to keep 4 that were over 20 lbs. Our biggest was 26 lbs.

Almost went, but was less than motivated to fight the crowd at the launch.

Launch wasn't bad at neah, but only Big Salmon Gas pump working.  Big lines for fuel.  Killed em Sunday with limits on both lings and butts but went out about 35 miles to get em.  Much bigger fish than the opener last year. I didn't fish Friday but guys said it was not good, one boat went down with one drowned off Tatoosh

Only landed 1 10lber Friday, nothing in Canada Saturday, decided it wasnt worth it to fish Sunday.  Fish checker on Friday checked 8 fish for 22 boats on Friday at Seiku.  Something happened 2 years ago that left area 5 a dead sea, not even a true cod.
