There seem to be high numbers of coyotes in my area his season.  What are you seeing?

We are seeing less. And hearing less too. Western Washington though. Haven't gotten a coyote since a year ago March, although I did miss one in February. :(

I was at a trap shoot in Colton, and could barely get any sleep in the trailer overnight because they damn things where so loud.  Seeing normal numbers south of Spokane

Definitely more this year in my area of Skagit. Lost my cat last week right in my yard. Watched my 120 lb Chesapeake have a stand off with 3 of them in my yard last night, I was within 25 yards of them standing on my front porch, but they finally spooked when I was fumbling around with the light to get the gauge on them. I've never seen them so aggressive before, they will be getting thinned out pretty quick!

Definitely a species that has been left un-managed for far too long. You can literally go anywhere in this state and find coyote tracks within minutes of getting out of the truck! Much like harbor seals, this predator eats anything it can catch, and has done more harm to wildlife than most other species. When possible, I will try to kill every one I see. Wish I could do the same with harbor seals...….

Every night when we have the window open we hear about a dozen yapping and howling.  Every so often when I walk the yard checking on the plants and stuff I have to pickup about 1/4 bucket of dog poo and I don't have a dog nor do my neighbors

Flore's research is interesting, If a hole is created they fill it.  The more you kill the more pups they have.  They have been managed to death, pardon the pun, and continue to expand and thrive.  The only time I see a difference is when disease and parasites, mostly mange, get a hold.  Most seem healthy this year.  No shortage.

I shot I think 4 last year at my place.  We had a den that you could hear in years past but I didn't hear it this summer.  I'm sure they are still around but that den didn't seem to get used.  It had to be pretty close to my house since i could hear it so loudly.

I'v shot 6 since april 28th 67 to date on our little farm spread. Should have ben 7 as one was inside my pig hot wire yesterday but my aim was a little high.It was quiet for a spell but they have moved back in hearing them yipping last week. I'v lost 2 springer spaniels 16 chickens and my daughters cat as well as most all blacktail fawns to them, the've tried to get my curent springer as well as my neices dog but I fear I'm barley keeping them in check, its a constant battle. I shot over 30 on my place alone last year and am in the low 20's so far this year.  No matter how many I shoot they keep coming back.
