Chehalis river fishing

Anyone else planning on fishing the chehalis come October 1st?  I noticed wdfw is doing all the sportsmen’s a favor and letting the nets be in the first 2 days that it’s open.

WDFW doesn't set tribal fishing dates any more than the tribes set sport fishing dates.

North Of Falcon meetings in Spring determine seasons based on various biological data as well as harvest reports. It is a federal thing. Has been for decades.

With the Willipa and Columbia closures it ought to be a regular fuster cluck on that system. WDFW is systematically destroying all of the small tributary rivers one closure at a time. At least all the enforcement guys will know where to be.

i always fish it, but my expectations are pretty low these days.  the last couple years have sucked, hard.

That is true below the Monte bridge. Above there is two Coho, but hatchery only.

I'll be fishing it but not a lot of water or strong tides for two weeks...

6:45-11:30 put in at friends landing, fish down river below the nets till 8:30, nada...
I then ran up to the mouth of the Wynoochee fished downriver without one single bite all morning.
Yep needs lots of rain and stronger tides.

Yep, and it’s sad that you never hear about them getting busted.
