not a bad first buck, he looks happy and thats all that matters. I was up there the last couple days, there is a few deer around but its really really slow IMHO. Mostly local bucks or young migrators. saw a couple nice bucks, but were passed on. 22 inch tall 4x3 and a nice heavy 3x3 but no width. Oh and a 28 plus inch 2x2!!!! to far away for pics. But hopefully there is some weather soon or there wont be anything to big shot this year in some of the lower units. Good luck guys!!

Didn't you post pictures of a big wide 2X2 last year that you seen during your hunt? Is it the same buck?

Awesome job for you and your hunter. That guiding is tough business huh? I'm glad he notched his tag on a great looking deer. If you care for my professional opinion, I'd say 3.5. I'm betting that there aren't as many bigger deer out as most people think, even in the infamous chelan country. Very much so without the weather. Again great job, and thanks for the pics. You've had a fun filled fall.

Michael you're right that first pic didn't do it justice. Nice buck. I am no pro when it comes to scoring but I would guess 168-172 gross. Just thowing it out there. Congrats to you and the hunter.

Thanks cat... I was thinking/hoping he'd break 160" cause that's what I told the guy he would have a shot at harvesting if not bigger... anyways it was by far his biggest deer to date and he was extremely pleased with the hunt/guiding... So that makes me happy aswell!

I keep looking at the pics and it is kinda hard to judge, I think that I might have been a little high on the score, but really if he is happy thats all that matters.

I am with bone on this one, the last couple pics make it look really big, but then go back and look at the field photos, and i think you said its only around 20 wide. so i would say gross around 150 Pretty color on him also.
Ridge- im not sure if i posted that big 2x2 on this site..i cant remember. the one i saw yesterday wasnt as tall or heavy. It was a young deer. The one last winter had more mass and height. I will have to re post some pics when i get back from montana.
Slide- love that picture, nice heavy looking buck. any more pics???

Michael, looks like your becoming quite the guide, well when you were with me earlier this spring you had the bucks practically jumping into my truck, actually my front fender and the side of my door!lol Congrats to the hunter on the buck. Looks to be around 150-155 is my guess.

Well we tagged out. Dad was hoping/dreaming she could hunt harder, but she was just pretty much done with hunting. We actually passed this buck up our first day, and she was willing to let it go. We also passed up two larger bucks earlier in the week. Yes I was hoping she would hold out for a mid 170's but she told me yesterday she just wanted to shoot a good buck and be done. Real hard for her to pass up a high 160 two days ago and she was crying because I would not let her shoot. I did a reality check on who's hunt it actually was and was not going to ruin her like I did her brother (who hates hunting now) by forgetting what it was like to be a young hunter. So this morning we spotted him and she said she wanted to shoot him. Made a stalk but he moved, so we re-adjusted and made another stalk. Had him at 195yds straight down, and she made a great shot shooting down at an extremely steep angle. The buck actually tumbled and rolled down the hill every time we tried to drag it because it as so steep.
Saw three very, very small bucks killed Forky, 14" 3x3, and 12" 4x4 killed. One huge toad came by in the back of a PU today, but did not get a good look to really tell size but a stud no doubt. Saw quite a few bucks, but no real huge ones. So here is her first deer, and I wish I could have shot a buck like this when I was 10. I can stretch it to 20.5 but an honest 20+ on a 3.5yoa deer. Have some better pictures I will post later.

Well I went up this evening and hooked up with a father/son I know and got the son a deer! His biggest to date and the biggest deer they'd seen the whole trip! Glass up this Mature Muley/Whitetail cross from about 1000 yards and made a quick drive then a good stalk and the kid settled in for a good 150 yard shot from his butt resting off his knees to put the buck down! They were both SUPER excited... Heading back up tomorrow to see if I can't help out their buddy who is returning tomorrow... Here's the pictures!
