I bought a 98 Taco with 74K miles and sold it at 242K miles. It was 100% stock. No abuse by original owner or myself. I serviced it religiously. Quite the little mountain goat. But it had it's issues. Automatic tranny went out (completely) at just over 100K. This was my first Toyota and I was surprised this happened. Starter went out so she got a ride home on a hook. U-joints and carrier bearing. Drivers seat started to come undone. Top end engine gaskets started leaking oil. The way the oil (3.4) from the oil filter pissed down the side of the engine onto the front cross member was a poor design. Front axle inner bearings. A/C compressor went out at 200K? And that engine compartment was a real pain to turn wrenches in by a guy with big hands!!

I say this not to bash the Tacoma. It was a great little rig. I mention this because they all have issues no matter the emblem on the front grill.

You’re the only honest one here.
3.0 and 3.4 ate head gaskets for lunch, but that’s a sign of quality.
Tranny dead at 100? Sign of quality!
A load of firewood and ride on the RUSTY frame rails? Sign of quality!
Videos on YouTube where somebody makes a parts kit to keep your bed from cracking? Sign of quality!

:chuckle:

Since you can’t read, I’ll dumb it down for you.
https://risingsun4x4club.org/xf/threads/frame-recall.22467/

Oh noes! The springs! The frames! The rust!  I am certain that all the other manufacturers have not ever had any recalls.

I was honestly hoping for another sandwich-board, the end is nigh, manifesto.

:chuckle:

But I thought that might be a bit too much to expect for you to put something coherent together.  Sorry you weren't sharp enough to take advantage of the lemon law.  But makes some more personal attacks, if it makes you feel better about your bad decisions.  I am sure that will help.

Lemon law is 30 months from date of delivery.
You’re proving your automotive knowledge with every post.

Nearly a million miles for me on Toyota's and a lot of the miles have been hard. Replaced a set of heads on a 3.0, a clutch on another, and and a few cv axles from torn boots is about it for issues other than suspension parts from abuse. I'd consider the quality control at the top end. Guess I must be one of the "Fanboyz" you're referring to since they've been dependable for me?

Toyota does make a cute truck.
