Machias' 21-22 Idaho Season
« on: December 13, 2021, 06:15:16 PM »
Not going to be running much of a line this year due to really bad knees, but will have a few coyote and beaver traps out.  Put in a couple of sets 2 days ago.  Of course the water level rose quite a bit and both sets were about 8 inches under water.  Went back this morning and got a nice beaver in a area they are working pretty hard.  Managed to get in an additional 3 sets for a total of 5.  Real good shot of picking up an otter or two as well.

Fighting  a bad knee myself. Climbing river banks and kneeling is tough. I feel your pain!

Set where you can and trap as much as possible. Good luck!

Have you tried beaver tail? Seen it in Meateater cookbook and curious if someone other than Rinellas have an opinion on it.

I always skin out the tails and have the leather tanned.  I would not eat that for a wheel barrel full of money.  :)

Thanks every one, Merry Christmas!!
