I was one of the people who tried to get a left over last year and dang, what a flippin mess that was. I did not get one and was soooooo pissed and the WDFW on how that was conducted. They need a left over draw or something. When their system fails and they just say, “well, sorry but that’s all folks”. It’s a shame. There was zero fairness to any of it last year.

I didn’t have an issue with it last year, yeah there was an overload on the site but that was for everyone. I also was one of the first in line at my local dealer. I don’t get how that’s not fair, I got in line before everyone else, especially those that didn’t even want to leave the couch to get one. If you want to talk fair then get rid of the points all together, every year you get one application 1 name in the pot, you get drawn then great if not to bad. No extra names because you paid $5 a year for 10 years.

You just needed to think outside the box.  When the system crashed, when I was at the store I e-mailed them from my phone.  I saw later that day they were sold out.  A week later I was contacted about buying a multi season permit in which I did.  I received that because I had e-mailed them.

Took me three years to draw deer last year, and now I drew again this year. Completely random. I've got like ten points for elk, and a buddy of mine has drawn it three times in the last ten years. LOL.

Didn't draw either but got both last year so I'm not upset. Planning to be in Wyoming this fall anyhow

I didn't get either this year, though was glad to get deer last year (my first year hunting period). It was nice because it allowed me to try out muzzle loader season, which is what my tag will be this year, without putting all my eggs into one unfamiliar basket. Having it also allowed me more opportunity to experience hunting in different areas and times of year.

Maybe I'll have more luck in the OIL draws.  :chuckle:

I didn’t draw, I now have 3 deer points and 6 elk. Wife didn’t draw, she has 2 deer and 5 elk. I’ll be buying one when they go on sell. But in person not online.

I’m thinking there might be less with almost everyone back to work by now, last year it was still off and on. We’ll see though  :dunno:

May want to be careful with that fairness word. With the directions the state is steering the DFW I would much rather have the excess sales than trust the people Jaydolf  has appointed and the anti leaning folks that have infiltrated the system to be fair to any of us. They seem to only care or have emotional atatchments to all of OUR states predators :bash:! Give me an August free for all any time in stead of anything they can corrupt :yike:
Dont think there are anymore free for alls for elk, they just call the next in line after the deadline to buy aug 1.

So you dont have to try to be first in line any longer?

Nope, so they literally can say there’s 100 left overs and give out 10 and save the other 90 tags. Where as if they say there’s 100 tags and 100 people stand in line then…… letting them go to no otc leftovers is a bad thing and creating a *censored* system and getting people to complain about it gives them a reason to switch to 100% draw. Mind you look who’s apart of the commission

I drew deer this year but not in the last four years.
I don't always shoot big mule deer, but when I do, it's with a bow tech!

Only time I've ever drawn Deer was last year.  Never on Elk.  Hope they keep the opportunity to be able to purchase over the counter for the leftovers in August.  That's really our only hope.  The Game Dept. doesn't really want us to hunt, they just want our money.

No kidding??

That really caught my attention.  We have to change our mindsets on multi-season.  Deer never used to be over-subscribed.  Wowzer.
