Nooksack Bull
« on: June 29, 2009, 12:28:33 AM »
Didn't get this posted until now even though I saw this bull last weekend.  I went out with my dad, little bro, uncle and cousin and happened to meet Timber up in the hills the day before Father's Day.  We saw this bull and a cow and a couple of billies.  I didn't get any pics of the goats they were too far away and my battery died before I could get the cow.  Here is the only good pic I could get with my point and shoot from about 300 yards.  Too bad Timber's lens had fogged up or we would have had some better pics.

If that was 300 yards, then it's a good picture.  Better camera than mine...
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Yeah, I'm really happy with my point and shoot overall.  I love the quality of pics like the bear pics I have over in my Nooksack bear page.  I would definitely love to get a good DSLR, but this camera will do for now...

Are you scouting every weekend or just an avid hiker?

I'm not 100% sure to tell the truth.  I am mostly an avid hiker, and I love the outdoors.  I tend to gravitate towards scouting hiking when my wife doesn't come and towards common granola trail hiking when she is with me.  It just so happens that she hasn't been available or hasn't wanted to come that last few weekends.  Now she's up in Alaska commercial fishing with her dad, so I will be mostly scouting for the next 2 weeks.  Then I will be doing mostly hiking for the following six weeks or so.  Unluckily, I probably won't be able to get out bear hunting until the fourth week of August.  The bears will have nicer coats then so it won't be all bad.

As far as I know there was not a second bull.  If there is, I, nor anyone I was with saw it at the time.  I can see what your looking at and it does kind of look like another elk, but I'm pretty sure it's just some sticks and branches.
