He was out at 103 yards. I would have missed if he stood still. It would have flown over his back. I practice all the time. I shoot a 2009 Bowtech 82nd Airborne. I have a spot hog 7 pin sight with my first pin to the 7th pin set at~~~ 30-40-50-60-a gap between 60-70, then 80-90-100. I have harvested 14 animals in my 9 years of bow hunting. I have had a few deer in the 30-40 yard range but most out in the 60-100 yard range. All it takes is practice. It may happen to any bow hunter. You can make a bad shot, gut shot or somewhere else. I cant help the fact that the elk turned into my arrow.

Couldn't get any closer than 103 yards, so he took a shot from there. He saw the spike drop and then there was a picture of a spike elk with an arrow in the back of its head.
