Just checking to see how Boone is doing. P.s. you're one hell of an owner, not many people would go through all this for their pets.

Hey guys,

Well Boone is taking a turn for the worse. He has pretty much stopped eating he is losing weight fast. His energy level is very low. I am starting to think that this is the end. I'll take him in on Monday for a few more tests but it does not look good. Anyway, just a quick update i'll let ya know how Monday goes.

Wow Cory, I just saw this thread this morning.  Prayers and a lot of them are being sent your way from Colville.  Hang in there and hopefully Boone will pull through.  They are tough dogs.  Keep us posted if you can.  John

Waiting for the vet to call me back. We gave him a b-12 shot last week to see if that might do something for him. Sadly i don't' see any difference. The only thing i could get him to eat all weekend was two egg yolks and about 12 small meatballs. He is loosing weight very fast now. My 90 pound lab is now reduced to about 60-65 pounds. He still wags his tail but i can see he is pretty unhappy. I can't just sit around and watch him waste away into nothing. If i don't have some ground breaking discovery today at the vet's office i'm going to be forced to put him down. It has become very apparent that this is not going to be something i can just wait out and hope it fixes itself. I'll keep everybody posted on how it goes  today. If i do decide to put him down the vet has offed to do a free autopsy and i think I'm going to take her up on it. Hopefully some good will come of this and i can find out what this was. My hope is that through Boone we can find out what is going on and possible spare somebody else from having to go through the same thing. Thanks again fro all the support.

Doubling down on prayers for Boone again today.  Hope he pulls through.

In a last stitch effort to try and figure this out I decided, under direction of my vet, to double the dose of steroids. This morning there is a dramatic difference in Boone. He is eating and seems to have more energy. The only problem is that my vet compared Steroids to Medical Marijuana in that it will only make him feel better but not really fix anything. She did say there is a small chance that it may fix him but that it was more likely to just make him feel a little better so that more tests could be done. I'm at a loss today my dog is acting and feeling better than he has in days but i know that it not permanent fix. We are going to try him on this double dose for a week if i notice him slipping back into feeling bad I'm going to put him down. If at the end of the week he has not made a noticeable recovery I'll put him down. I was all set to do it today but with him feeling better i am just going to hold on and hope for a miracle.

Cory

For weight to be put back on try these.  I rescued a dog one time while hunting he weighed 37 pounds. I had him up to 64 pounds in about a month. Also have they seen if your dog is auto immune? I had my bluetick almost go down on me and it sounded like the same thing. A lot of the tests they were doing was actually hurting him because his immune system could not take it. Even for him to get his rabies shot now I have to put him on meds 3 weeks out.   Good luck to you.
