I bought a bunch of maps.  The hunt area is HUGE.  Its multiple units all rolled into one.  I usually buy a bunch of USGS maps prior to every hunt, but I don't have that much coin for this one.  It would be over $1000 in maps.  I got some BLM ones that are sort of topographical.  I have a feeling I'll be hunting the sage or lower country around those giant mountains.  I think the hardest thing is to get onto a buck once you find one.  I might have to extend my range.  Still wanting to do longbow or Trad.

Its interesting the different opinions from folks about a given area about a hunt.  I had a bunch of guys from nevada trying to talk me into turning the tag in.  They thought the hunt was worthless.  I was actually beginning to wonder what I got myself into.  Then some other guys that live there chagned my mindset, then I got this pic, of a buck from a guy in California with my tag.  I would shoot him in a heartbeat.....

I shouldn't post pics of bucks like that in my thread because my puny little buck might look pitiful. LOL

That's why I keep my back issues at work... :chuckle:

I think they pretty much don't want the Non Residents to show up.  They don't mind the money it brings in, but just assume we didn't shoot one of their dinks.   :)

The way I am shooting right now, this could be interesting.
