Buoy 10?
«
on:
August 14, 2010, 10:05:08 PM »
Anyone hitting buoy 10 yet? I was set to head down in the morning but got a text from a friend (who is an awesome fisherman) that out of 7 of them they caught 1 sub-legal in the past 2 days. I think that I will wait another week. Anyone else heard any news or been fishing down there yet?

I fished it yesterday with a guide friend. We had 5 rods out and no bites. Last year it was the 14th that all hell broke lose. I guess the Commies cleaned teh river out Thursday and the fish just hadn't moved back in. The boats that came back in off the Ocean all had fish. Wa side sounded slower than teh Org side. we seen about 5 fish hooked. It's due too kick off any day.

Is the taste of the bait worth the sting of the hook twice?

Talked to my friend and out of 7 rods they wound up with 1 25-30 lb. king in 2 days of fishing. Lets hope that next weekend is better.

talk to my guide buddy they got 2 kings, 1 steelhead, and 2 silvers (first of the season) today. sounds pretty decent to me. On top of that the water was flat.

It is still early for the "BIG PUSH".
Typically we dont head down till the 25th. But with the big return this year predicted, were going Friday and staying thru the 29th. Could be gangbusters this year!

Damn it, I had a gut feeling that we should have gone anyway. All the reports that I got were bad news friday, sat and sunday. I'll definitely hit it next weekend, better weather coming.

The last 2 years seems like the fish were early. This year seems like they are back to the timing i remember.
Years ago seems like i wouldn't start to fish it untill the mid. of august. Now people are worried if they don't start hooking fish the first of august.
It will only get better from here on out. Seems like there are less coho though.
