Much like said above, have heard of the "silver" breed but never seen one.  Good looking Lab.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

I just got done looking silvers up they are a "shade" of chocklate... I think they are a throwback bread from chocolates like chocolates were a throwback from blacks..

Yeah he is registered as chocolate but he really shines bright silver in the sun.. dark or shaded areas you can definitly see the chocolate...

Nice looking fella-

They register as Chocolates. Same colors can come out in Chessies.

They are a recessive color gene. Not always considered good to try to breed for recessive qualities but, when they come out on accident they are really cool!

He is probaby the "Silverist" lab I've ever seen! Stunning looking. Glad you got a new buddy- Hap

I have never seen a silver lab!  What a great looking dog.  Sounds like it was meant to be.

happy is right the silver lab is a throw back color of the choc and that is what they are registered as. kinda like a fox red for the yellows, still a yellow lab but diffrent color of yellow. my labs carry the fox red gene from the old English lines. yellow labs have been bred to be light over the years and that is where we get a lot of the bigger labs/American.  also is he is not purebred if he is AKC he is a lot better ;) purebred just means a lab to a lab that someone says with akc you know he is the real deal. congrats on the new dog.
