You know you're scouting right in the middle of archery season.

I was over last weekend and the bow boyz were setting up camp, staking out their spots, and marking their territory. Saw a few deer and some thrashing sign and fresh scat from a bull that wanted to let the world know he was there...4000ft drop of to the canyon below...around shadow creek. Still to warm for them to be anywhere but the cool hidyhole. Good luck and to bad you are getting married during hunting season...bad timing...for the rest of your hunting life.

Weddings come and go. This is a hunt of a lifetime, so invest your time wisely
Just kidding. Congratulations on the marriage and make that first in all things.

ok wedding is over now its time to get after it!! D-Rock yes I know its archery season. Would it make you feel better if I hunted while I was scouting since I have the multi season tag. I just want to poke around and see what the ground is like and look for some critters.

I was up there last weekend and I heard some chatter going on in the morning and at night. So they're talking at least up at the higher elevations.

haven't hunted that unit for a few years but got elk three years in a row with my bow hunting around water....always found them in the evenings headed to the creeks coming down off the hills...if i remember right we were around buck meadows (?) always found them at last light in the creek bottoms. by first light they were way up on ridge tops

Has anyone seen anything in this unit yet this season? I’ve tromped it from high to low and I’ve seen nothing but old sign. Very few hunters too and those that I’ve talked to haven’t seen much either.
