Our camp of 4 guys has killed Elk the last 4 years running and some years with multiple elk in camp. I'm usually in good shape come elk season but why is it every year it seems like they go deeper and deeper in the biggest holes possible. Is it the Elk or am I just getting older.  :bash:
A Bowtech shooter now

 Is it Sept yet?????

I've done about six full 12 ounce curls since last post..... The problem is they keep getting lighter everytime til a new rep starts.... Worked on the chicken coupe for a couple hours..... Don't think that counts much though....  :dunno:  That rooster is a pain in the ass to catch!!!!!! Probably got a 1/4 mile in trying to net the damn thing.... I even spilled a beer.... The wife and kids just laugh..... A little help would be nice.....  :dunno:

What you're missing in your routine is nutrition. I didn't see the mention of pork rinds or beef jerky anywhere!

6ft 190lb as of today, tore my ACL about 6 months ago.  Found traintohunt.com and started following along.  I started at 221lb, 3 months later I have cancelled my surgery, have hit personal records on all my lifts, runs, hikes and feeling stronger than ever.  I encourage everyone (special permit or not) to hit the ground running now!  I need to buckle down on a consistent shooting routine with the bow.  The elk never get a day off, why should we?

6'.... 196 lbs..... Sitting here drinking a beer while I read this.....  :chuckle: Just trying to get you all motivated!!!! I workout all day at work..... I'm taking the rest of the week off.....
that was the nice thing about when I worked in the woods as a forest engineer. Never had to worry about getting in shape for elk season and I typically didn't scout much because I already had a good idea where the elk were most days.

Well other than shooting my bow and doing a ton of yard work, I haven't started any real training.  Have been getting some good hikes around the neighborhood lol.

Well I did a little more then I wanted to last night.... Some friends came over so we wlked around the yard a bunch looking at some of my cars and such..... Another buddy showed up and dropped off a car that I traded him out of.... We bsed for a few hours while checking fences and what not... Had to keep going back up to the fridge for clod beer until we got smart enough to remember they make coolers with wheels for a reason!!!!!  :IBCOOL:  I am a proud owner of that great invention!!!! Didn't have to go back up to the house the rest of the night....

10 miles on the bike, 2.5 miles at 6% on the treadmill, and 30 minutes of weights yesterday. 14 lbs in 23 days on the way to 40 by 09/08/11

Nice work piano.  Be careful not to drop weight too fast - anything more than 3 pounds a week could have negative health effects.  With a goal of 9/8 though, you can easily too this with hard work.  Keep it up!!

Anyone doing Hoopfest this weekend?  I'm usually very excited for it (and still am) but I have an Alaskan moose hunt planned in September as well as a cow tag here in washington for October - so I pray to God this isn't the year I blow my knee out or something like that.

wish I was as motivated as some of you guys! I do get a good workout at work but its still not enough. When I get home I'm dead a$$ tired.  I know I need to do more but it's tough doing it by yourself... Started walking a few miles in the evenings with the dogs and just bought a bowflex so next week I'll hit it hard. Way to go to the guys that are shedding the pounds! Keep it up

Main thing is when you get home don't sit down just get your workout clothes on and do it. On your way home take(40 min before working out) some NO3 explode they sell it at Costco it will help during your workouts. Set some goals for yourself and stick to them. Like workout everyday during the week and hike on the weekend.
