And by the way...it's, I couldn't care less.
Sorry, had to do it.

And I care even less about this.

I cant help but think a couple of these post are directed at me since I just posted my first archery bull and mistakenly included my "green, wet, and rough" (as I put it in my post) score of 350 5/8.

I really hope nobody is losing sleep over it. As I said, it is my first archery bull, I scored it with a 1/4 inch wide flexible tape following directions from trophy-elk.com. I could take the time to type out the score details, download the pdf scoring sheets for you, show all the deductions etc etc, and have you guys show me what I did wrong, but in the end I don't really care that much.

Your all very right, I am not a trained or an official measurer, it hasent been 60 days, Im sure I did it all wrong and exaggerated my score grossly, its probably way smaller than that, and Im sure yours is bigger. I am sorry.

That will teach me not to ever post trophy pics again. Lesson learned. I should stick to shooting, scouting, hunting and killing. Ill leave the internet soap box speculation to you guys.

Meanwhile, I am eating elk for dinner.

 :chuckle: well said Ryan.

Seems like everyone is a little gun shy on posting score guesses now. There are usually about 10 scores by now within a hundred inches of each other.  :chuckle: without too much thought Ill say 347"

I've found that the only way I can score a rack is while I'm chewing on a backstrap from the animal in question! Nice bull tho.

What does it really matter to you what someone says their animal scores?!?! Or what they say it scores?? Does it somehow affect your life in any way? Does it make work more or less stressful? Does it make your wife love you more or less?? Does it make you have more or less money in your pocket?? Does it make you sleep better or worse at night?? Does it in any way affect your happiness in life????
If you answered YES to any of these questions....Please seek professional help as soon as possible!!! If you Answered NO to all of these questions..... Stop your whining!
And if it really bothers you that bad....I want you to know..... Every elk I kill is 400"....Every Buck I kill is 200"....Every Bear I kill is 23"....I'm 12"....Every Salmon I catch weighs 30#'s....and I draw OIL tags EVERY YEAR!!!!
Now....Here are your  :twocents: back....plus I am willing to send you $.25 so you can call someone that cares!!!
Have a Nice Night!!! LMAO

I never claimed myself as a master scorer but I can say I have learned alot about scoring when I killed my biggest bull in 2008 ... I got on the pope & young site and pulled up there score sheets and scored my own ...and to my surprise I was damn close on my score ...it does not matter about horns to me but now that I have a nice one on my wall I WILL NOW BECOME A COW KILLER  :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :tung: THEY TASTE SO GOOOOOOOOD ! :yeah:

Now we know why everything you score is so big.  Get a tap measure that works.

well i am sorry for the thread that i started first and foremost.... i did not think i would get this kind of hate mail....i have never once on this site ever made a comment regarding a picture and score of an animal not one time!!!! if you look at all my posts comments and such i have never once said anything negative towards anyone photo... i congratulate everyone and thank them for the photo and story.... all i am saying is please if you do not know how to score an animal correctly and think you might please don't say it is 20 inches larger than what it is ask people for their thought on it... and as for RS i am not talking about your bull when i posted this yesterday..... just please don't give a score of an animal unless your sure of what it scores... i honestly do not care what they score its great that there are so many hunters here that harvest animals each year i think its great....so please don't hate me for my post i did not mean to start a firestorm of hate mail towards me... thank you all for your comments!!

>:( >:( >:(     first of all this is a rant and is a good place to write this in my opinion. I have looked at pictures of bulls on this site taken in the last couple years and just dont understand how there can be that many 300 to 350 bulls killed. if so the record books should be just exploding with new entry's every year. i wish i had some of your guy's tape measurer's so i cant take them with me when i go sturgeon fishing. i see some people say there bull is 350 and there buddys bull is 300 right next to each other and there is no way. the pope and young book should be full after the last two years of archery seasons there shouldnt be any more room or paper left in the state to enter all the bulls that qualify. here are some numbers i crunched real quick to give you an idea of a 300-315 bull 1st 2nd and 3rd points 16 inches 4rths 18 inches 5ths 12 inches 40 inch main beam and 38 width thats 274 inches now add in the mass measurements and ive only seen a handfull of bulls on here in the last couple years killed that would come close to this and those are conservative numbers. thats giving a bull some nice tine length that alot of these so called 350 inch bulls you guys have killed in the last two years dont have. sorry guys to rant about this but if you dont know how to score something have it done instead of comin up with numbers that do not seem realistic. some of these so called 300 inch bulls must have a 40 inch long nose on them. i am not saying anything bad about any picture of any bull posted on here congradulations to each and every one of you guys great job in harvesting nice animals. an elk is an elk you cant take that from anyone but for god sakes if you cant score an animal please dont post a picture of a bull and say its 320 when in reality its only 280 or 290 and thats my  :twocents:

I think we could have a winner for the most pointless thread award. You say you don't care what an animal scores yet you have a hatred for people that post an incorrect score  :dunno:. WHO CARES. If it makes that person feel better about themselves good for them. If you know it is an incorrect score just smile to yourself and and know in your heart of hearts that you would score it perfectly and then move on. How does this affect you in ANY way? Other then the fact that you begrudge people for scoring a bull bigger then yours when OBVIOUSLY theirs is by FAR an inferior bull. Scores are just numbers and I never really liked math so I guess I don't get the obsession with scores. Yeah it's cool to know but it's not that important. If your bull is a trophy you don't need a score to tell you it's a trophy..... I like meat, I like horns, and I LOVE hunting.
