lokidog- I am going to get the upgraded top so hopfully it won't have that issue.  Thanks for the tip on the corroding items.  I looked at the Hews, but just can't quite reach the price point and still be cool with the wife.  I am pushing it as is.

Huntnphool- I choose the 20 because of the extra space and the differance between the 18 and 20 is only $1000 bucks.

I was just wondering why you were limited to only 20'

I understand the price point deal.  We found ours as a three year old "used" one owned by two guys in a row over 70.  Of course a week later a 21' North River came up at about the samew price point.   :bash:

You definitely do not need over a 90hp with that.  What is the upgraded top?  I've been thinking about building a ply and glass hard top for mine.

Loki- its the dura frame top, it has a full skeleton and a thicker canvas than the standard.  you can kinda see it in the pic.

It looks nice.  Hopefully it has that zipper issue figured out.  I have to wear raingear to take my daughter to school in the rain or my leg and arm are soaked by the time I do the 6 mile round trip.  I'll post pics

Here is my 2008 Weldcraft Maverick.  I have no complaints about Weldcraft, they are made by the same company as Duckworth.  They use some of the thickest aluminum on the market.  It has a true Deep V, which rides very smooth compared to other aluminum boats.  Weldcraft comes standard with a 7’ beam, others you have to custom order.  I did a lot of research before buying my boat.  I looked at Hewes, Alumaweld, North River, and Thunder Jet, before deciding on the Weldcraft.  If I could offer one piece of advise, have your boat outfitted at the time of purchase.  It took me a couple years to set my boat up the way I wanted.  I saved money, but lost a couple fishing seasons out of it.  Alumaweld builds a good boat for the money.

Will hunt for food.

Not much of a fishing boat but she is sea worthy!!

Sold the Hewes (22ft ) and downsized to the Duckworth (18ft)
