Lyman Deerstalker in stainless
« on: August 01, 2008, 01:35:34 AM »

Well, at least it won't rust! Just got it last year and hunted Capitol Peak Forest a couple days with it. Hope to do better this year taking a little vacation this time. :)

Thats a very nice piece. The stock looks great. I like the straight grip.

I've got the blued version ~ love the feel of it. Shoots awesome but had some problems initially with flat nipples ~ buy a few extra's (about $3 each) and file them down every now and then. Taken elk and deer so far with it  :)

Lyman makes a good product. It's really coming around. Here is a recent 50 yd group. Lyman Great Plains bullets 390 gr, Remington #11 caps, Triple Seven FFg @ 65 gr, after sitting a year, I think it's finally broken in. Got about 80 rounds through it. I buttered it up with Bore Butter last year after deer season. All my BP rifles shot better the second year than when new. Thanks for the comments!

If I ever buy a new frontstuffer that is what I'd get!!    In my eye's that is the most beautiful gun made.  I've only seen one before about 3 yrs ago outa Ridgefeild.   Prolly get my kid that for his first .   And yes they shoot.  Hunted for years witha father and son team and both had the blued/walnut version and man did they shoot good..

I've got that same gun. I like it. Haven't killed anything with it yet though. Last year I used my T/C Black Diamond. Just might use the Lyman this year. Always gotta try something new.

The only one I've seen had a much darker stock.  But that one and this one are beauties.
