What should I do?
« on: August 10, 2008, 07:48:10 PM »
Im shooting a Martin Jaguar bow. I recently got some muzzy 100's and they shoot a little to the left of my field points. Should I move my sights? I've herd that maybe the bow should be tunned better or something if this happens. And I'd like to start bear hunting with it this week and know nothing about tunning so I'm kinda leaning towords moving the sights. Any advise would be good. Thanks.

If you have 25 extra bucks I would try slick trick broadheads sold at cabelas and sportsmans. Fly exactly like my field tips which is nice.

It could be a tuning problem but if you are hitting the same spot (only left) then I would go ahead and move my pins for now.

Shoot it through paper and see if your flying straight.

If your consistant to the left I would agree to move it and give it a try. As close to season as we are i would try to keep it simple if it works.  :dunno:

My bow always does that with broadheads, so I adjust my pins and everything works fine.  They always shoot down and tot he left, even though they are the same weight as my field points.  Its a pain in the ass, but I can sit out at 60 yards or so and put 5 in the bullseye about the size of a tennis ball, so I feel tuning isn't probably that neccessary.  COurse now I shoot a Trad bow for the most part and thats a different story.

Try turning a nock.   I've walked arrows in circle by turning the nock on it.   :dunno:

I had this issue last night.  I had to switch arrows first, which helped a bit, then I slowly turned the nock a bit each shot until the grouped with my field tips.  Hitting right where I am aiming now.  It was a long process, but the end result is they are hitting good now.

Strange that you're a bowhunter and your icon is a box of rifle ammo.  :dunno:

At least you're saving $25+ every time you target practice--this ammo gets expensive!

Maybe I need pins on my trad bow and I'd shoot better.

I feel your pain on that one. I have several trad bows but I think I shoot worse everytime I practice with them. I have to drag out my compound each time just to build my confidence again.

Shoot FOBs and you won't have that problem
