On my way to the Yukon... for moose and? Heading home.
« on: September 05, 2012, 06:22:07 PM »
Well, technically I am in the Yukon right now but have two more days of traveling to be on the hunting grounds.  Hopefully, I can put one down with my bow.  And, if lucky, might get a shot at a wolf or two.

Here are some critters seen on the drive this morning from Fort Nelson, BC.

Also saw a fox but got no pics of it.

Well, we are here in Whitehorse.  We've winnowed our packs down to the basics, plus a little....  :chuckle:

We fly out in the morning.  The outfitter says they've picked up some nice stone sheep, one for the books.  It would only cost about $20,000 more   :yike:   :yike:  though maybe a little less since I have the moose trip already on.  He says lots of Mountain caribou as well, might be hard to pass up a great one of those at 20 yards, hmmmm.  We are the first of the moose hunters for the season.  Temps are dropping a bit tomorrow and the guides have informed the outfitter the bulls are starting to move a bit.

Can't wait to get out there.

Good luck to all the elk hunters that I won't be competing with during the early season (westside), I guess good luck to you east side hunters as well.
