Nothing crazy, guided Mark Few, Gonzaga coach, many times and met Kasey Kahne when he fished with our crew in AK.

Ran into an armada of boats around George HW Bush fishing the flats in the Florida keys when he was president.

Had the experience of taking Jimmie Johnson and Casey Mears fishing when guiding out of Elfin Cove.  They caused quite the stir in the village with the young ladies.  Can't say we caught any huge halibut, but lots of salmon and bottom fish.  Managed to win a few coins off of them on the pool table.  Both were down to earth fellows the entire trip.  Also had the opportunity to meet Steve Largent, Karl Malone, and Larry Csonka.

Aron Snyder bear hunting, funny thing he and his partner didn’t plan enough water into their trip, but I gave them my extra since I was on my way out.🤣

My father in law was a fishing guide in Port Hardy B.C for 30 yrs.  He took Kevin Costner, some dallas cowboys front office guys including a cheer leader,  WWE star Shawn Michaels and his wife, Jim Shockey and Wojo on trips.

I ran into Buhner on a coastal river a few years back. I recognized him but didn't say anything, treated him like a regular fisherman, as I would have wanted to be treated.
He was pretty cool and eager to chat about fishing.

On a side note. Years ago my wife and I introduced my best friend to a co-worker of my wife. They hit it off and ended up getting married a few years later.

One night after they were married the 4 of us went out in downtown Seattle where my wife and her worked. We had to stop by their office for something, and while we were in her office I noticed a pic on her desk. It was a pic of her and Jay Buhner at the McDs in NorthBend. I thought that was really cool.

A few months later my wife and I were at their house for dinner and were watching the M's game. During the game my friends wife points at the TV and says, "that's the guy who I had take the picture of me and Buhner". It was Griffey Jr. :chuckle:

I told her who it was and she said that made a lot of sense, since Jay kept flipping the guy taking the picture a bunch of sh!t at McDs when she asked Buhners friend to take their picture......lmfao. :chuckle:

Met Steve Miller out on Possession during coho season 15ish years ago.
I was in my Trophy 2452 with a double hook up going when I noticed this bigger Trophy (2802) getting a little to close.
Started yelling for them to give us some room while we landed the fish.
After the fish where netted they came back in close, started apologizing and asked what we were using.
Turned out to be Steve with a couple band mates. Gave them some of my coyote spoons and few tips on rigging, speed, depth etc. Got photos and signatures and had them follow my troll path so they could get it on there gps. After 5 minutes we were all catching fish, but my boat limited out and we had to go.
Would have loved to party with them that evening.
Also met Randy Bachman at Sun Lakes when I was really young.
He had a bad boy jet boat but couldn’t get a ride, he had a boatload of smokin hot babes to take care of.
One shot. One kill!

Jonathan Hilstrandt from Deadliest Catch.  I was gassing the boat and my kid was filling a cooler full of ice at a gas station in Spirt Lake Idaho at sunrise a couple of years ago.

A suburban pulls off Highway 53 rolls the window down and shouts "put blood on the decks brother"  I look up and say "hey your Jonathan..."  Before I could finish my statement he gave a thumbs up and drove off.

Sonny Liston. The heavy weight boxer. Spent a whole night with him night fishing for catfish with him on Lake Mead back about 1969. He lived in Vegas and used to go down and since regularly. After that first encounter I ran into him several more times. I was about 15 at the time.

Several years ago my myself and my buddy, who was a writer for a fly fishing magazine at the time, were hiking down a smaller Washington river when we stopped to watch a couple guys fly fishing from a distance. It was pretty remarkable skill where the one guy was fishing at and the way he was going about it so we just watched for a bit. Later the guy waded back up to the bank and my buddy went to go compliment him on his prowess. As we got closer my buddy looks at me and said, “dude! That’s Jim Teeny!” I was like, “who the heck is Jim Teeny?”  Apparently, he’s some sort of famous fly fisherman.

Interesting, my soon to be sister in law Shelly lives almost directly across lake from him.
Never see him at the house though.. Met him once at Tulalip playing blackjack.
We just moved up north, so spending a lot of time at the lake this summer.
My girlfriends brother plays music at the bar & grill frequently (North by Northwest), and having a lakefront house and keys to the boat at our disposal is a no brainer.
Haven’t fished the Big Lake since I was 10ish as I preferred Lake Sixteen.
If you’re local maybe we should meet up some time?

I wasn't even alive when he was vice president. Lots of people don't like him and I don't agree with his stance on politics, but the guy sure has a lot to talk about.

To me, he was friendlier than the professional athletes I have met on that river.

Had Secret Service ask my ex and me to NOT fish where then-Defense Secretary Dick Cheney was fishing the Middle Fork of the Powder River.  We said no problem and went higher on the mountain.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

I ran into him at a bar in Maple Valley right after season 2. He was wearing that leather jacket with a 8 ball on the back. Both of us standing there waiting to get a beer, I asked him if he was the guy on the show. He smiled and said yes and asked if I watched. I told him I did and he bought me a beer and cheered. :brew:
