I could really care less about white tail hunting, but I like following this thread every year. Good luck to all!

Injured my knee a month ago so I won’t get to put on the miles like I enjoy doing.
Am going to seriously try rattling this time. Be in Idaho 15 through the 20th. Should be a fun hunt .

I am ready, will be headed to Idaho 18th-25th. I have been reading your 2012 post and really want to rattle one in this year. Plan to live and die by it, so if I suck might be eating my tag. But, I can’t think a cooler way to get a WT and seeing your success has shown me it not just possible. It’s is a dependable way to get bucks.

I’m going to give it a shot with my youngest this weekend. Last year we shot our biggest buck of the season on the 8th. I’m hoping to get one to come in when my daughters actually set up and ready. Figure we will hunt our normal routine in the morning then try a few rattling sequences after. Looking like it’s going to be another wet weekend here. Prob see a little of the white stuff even.
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

Can't wait, headed to NE WA on the 12th.  Most fun you can have with your clothes on!  I have a multi season tag, going to be jumping from archery area to rifle area depending on results.

My daughter rattled in a BT for me when she was 3, it was wild. I just took her to into some thick reprod right off a very well traveled trail. Gave her the antlers, she was so good at making noise around the house I figure this would be right up her alley. Within a minute we had one moving to us, it was so close we could smell it before we saw it. I thought I was going crazy with how bad it smelled, then she said something about. One of those core memories for her.

I'll be in north Idaho Nov 21-26.

It will be good to see my old mentor's rustic little log hunting cabin, and raise a glass of Old Forester bourbon to his memory.  I'll never forget our last deer hunt together (Nov 2022).  He missed a buck, on purpose, I suspect. With a wry grin, he pointed out the bullet hole in the redcedar tree where the buck had stood, and talked about how beautiful the young buck had been.  I took a nice buck a few days later, and he motored up with his ATV and little trailer to get the deer down from the snowy, pine-covered hillside.  With the wood stove glowing, we toasted that deer, and everything else wild and beautiful in that valley, and also the promise of future hunts and what he called "woods time".

Man, I miss him.  Tell your loved ones, relatives or not, how much they mean to you.

Sorry, everyone, I digressed from the point of this thread.

But yes, I'll be up there in the cold Idaho mountains, rattling antlers and listening for the tell-tale snap of twigs, watching for quick movement in the brush and timber!

Headed to foothills west south east wa, Nov 13th for a week. I’ll be doing some rattling for sure. Only deer I ever kinda rattled in stopped at the fence line and wouldn’t jump it to end up dead. White tail are so fun to hunt. So unpredictable.

Looking forward to your eventual success post.  Nothing for me this year.  Tore my miniscus a couple of weeks ago, so letting that calm down while currently enjoying Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic!   :IBCOOL:
