They probably thought we were killing Native fish  :dunno:

What agency showed up at your house and what court is on the paperwork?  Let us know and we can find out exactly what the grounds were for probable cause.
Hard to believe this many man hours and resources were used over a picture posted on Facebook, all over a fish being held out of the water?

There has got to be more to this than is being disclosed, lets see that paperwork.

 :yeah:.......its BS without PIC's

The fact that yeaaaars ago (or whenverever it was) some old men sat around a table and decided to make a law saying its illiegal to hold a native fish out of the water, and now people act like you just robbed a bank if you do, is funny to me....

THe same old men could have made it so it was ILLEGAL TO FISH, even though catch and release seems quite logical.   However they tried to compensate for folks that didn't know how to/ or cared to know how too handle fish and came up with the law so that the rest of us could still fish that water.   :dunno:

I personally like the law.  It doesn't hamper my fishing at all and it protects fish.  Why do people need to remove a fish from the water that isn't legal to retain in the first place?  Net it with a CnR net or tail it, remove the hooks, snap photo, and release.  Seems pretty damn simple to me, and thousands of anglers have managed to figure it out.

I don't think anyone compared it to robbing a bank. However, I would say that you also don't get to rob a bank simply because you don't agree with it being illegal to do so.

Complaining about the "SWAT" team isn't as fun when both sides of the story come out?

OG?

We all need to be aware of what is going on with our rights to hunt and fish and we should all learn from each other what is right and wrong ...I try to help people on this site as much as I can and I will continue to do ...another thing ...there was 4 or 5 nets out one day they were fishing ...its o.k to net Native steelhead but its illegal for a kid to take a picture of a fish he caught by holding it out of the water ....this is O.K ...By law yes ..but I do not have to agree with it !

That's what's crazy!

Come on there has to be more to the story than a kid holding a fish out of the water....  Sounds like the guy with the two point buck story...  More to it than being presented...  You guys act like like LEOs and Fish and Game have nothing better to do than harass someone for something as simple as a fish out of water, where is the icon with the B.S. flag?

It looks like the "BS smiley" was deleted  :chuckle:

I was finding it difficult to swallow that all the WDFW needs to get a search warrent is a picture of a kid on facebook holding a Natural Steelhead out of the water  :dunno:

If that kid was a convicted felon poacher with a handgun showing in the picture of him holding a nate steely, I could see probable cause to search his house, not just some randon teenager with a nate steely out of the water :o

BTW, what is holding a natural steelhead out of the water? Is it a misdemeanor? Fine?

Proof's in the pudding, as they say.  BH has logged on a few times since I asked for clarification but it appears that none is forthcoming?
