Why I swear by thunderheads
« on: March 06, 2013, 10:39:42 AM »
My first buck with a bow, 1987, Obviously I hit a little high, but it worked.
The Thunderhead stayed completely intact...Have used em ever since.

Yeah, well Chuck Norris wouldn't have needed archery gear, he would have just punched it in the neck.

I have never seen an animal drop straight down as quickly as this guy did...It severed the spinal cord.
At the time I was new to bowhunting, I made a bad shot and now had a perfectly alive(but paralyzed) deer at my feet which had to be dispatched. It felt wrong to shoot it again with an arrow at point blank, so I "old schooled it" with a knife to the throat. NOT FUN, but neccesary. I learned alot about bowhunting that day.
This is the buck

This was 25 years ago...I remember the wasp's from back then...they would have exploded on impact. JK
Your right though, if it works good for you, stick with it. I've taken 24 deer, 11elk, 2 bears all with T-heads since. Happy  :archery_smiley:

Yes I may agree way back when ...they were big - not so tough of steel BUT NOW I GUARANTEE THEY UP END EVERYTHING THEY COME IN CONTACT WITH ... :yeah: :chuckle: Not many broadheads out there that are sharper than a Wasp Boss !

I've been using Thunderheads for years as well, never had a reason to change and they are going to look good flying through the air with a lighted nock following behind this year! :chuckle:

I swear by them too, if it ain't broke don't fix it.
Pain is temporary, achieving the goal is worth it.

I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

I don't have time to shoot something else, I've used them for over 20 years.
