hoyt faktor 34
« on: April 04, 2014, 01:14:25 PM »
I got a chance to shoot a hoyt bow for the first time ever.
Tried out the faktor 34 and right away I was thoroughly impressed.   Super smooth draw, no vibration not to mention it seemed like it was ergonomically made to fit my hand.

My first bow is the diamond outlaw, while it is a great bow for a beginner, it is in no way  close to the hoyt I shot.
Can't wait to see what other bows are on the market .

Go shoot the carbon spyder and the turbo. It's an eye opener.

Just purchased the Hoyt Faktor 34... Holy smokes! What an absolutely incredible bow! I had my heart set on an Elite Energy 35 but the Faktor 34 beckoned. Smoothest draw, solid back wall and no "jumpy" tendencies... Smoothest and quietest fast bow I've ever experienced. I got it because I needed the 31" draw and wanted to shoot 80lbs. Again, absolutely indlcredible. Combine it with the Spott Hogg Hogg Father and I'm in love!

I did not buy one this year as I knew I would never get the time to do my usual new product testing.  However I did get a chance to play with it while at the NABA show.  Granted, I wasn't able to spend the time to break it all down like I usually do.  But my impression of the Faktor 34 and even the 30 was that it might be the most enjoyable Hoyt bow to shoot since the Vectrix :dunno:  For your draw length I think the Faktor 34 and the CPXL are easily the best choices this year.  I'm sure you will be happy with it for at least 18 months :chuckle:    Good choice IMO.

You really need to shoot the carbon bow right next to the faktor.  Carbon bow is even smoother.  Not sure its worth the price jump that's up to you.

The price tag just makes it feel like it ;)  And that's one expensive 1.6 ounces!

I think it has less shock then the faktor.  Still not sure its worth the extra coin.

I thought it was worth it. Then again I'm a firm believer in "buy once, cry once". I haven't had one moment of regret for spending $1400 on the bare Carbon Spyder Turbo

But it's so dang ugly!!  :o  You'd think for $1,400 it would come with some lipstick and a paper bag. :chuckle:

I just ordered the Faktor 34 yesterday.  This will be my first bow.  I can't wait! I ordered it in Blackout with the American Heritage design. I was debating between this bow and the CPXL and then had the opportunity to get the Hoyt at a pretty sizable discount so it made the decision much easier.

Wow!  I didn't notice any difference between the two bows I shot.  I think the power of suggestion goes a long way with some folks when shooting a status logo.  Neither had much hand shock unless comparing to a center pivot bow.  I felt the Faktor balanced much better, besides looking better at a better price, so I gave it the edge.  Now in the Spyder 30 compared to the Faktor 30 I felt the Spyder might have had the balance edge.  The new cam is very nice.

Going off thread topic - On target bows I was blown away with the new Pro Edge Elite.  That's probably the best short target bow I have shot to date.  Hoyt knocked it out of the park on that one!

I was going to buy the Faktor, shot liked it , tried the carbon spyder 34 and fell in love! I don't think I've ever enjoyed shooting a bow as much as I do the carbon spyder. They were both nice to shoot and although the price was so much more then the Faktor IMO it was well worth it. Both are great bows!
