If the magazine can hold more than 2 of anything it's not legal in the field.
2 2.75   5.5" mag space needed
2 3.5      7"   Mag space needed
3 2.75    8.25"

No confusion - if it will hold 3 2.75 shells either the plugs been pulled or it needs one.

On old Benellis there was a way to trick things for 4, but that's been fixed.

Sorry to be an a hole but that's another thing that causes lots of confusion.  A loaded shotgun shell is shorter than the length specified.  The length specified of a shotgun shell is measured before the crimp or after is spent.  Example a 3.5 loaded shotgun shell is about 3 inches in length.  Once it is spent then it is 3.5 inches. Same goes with 3 inch and 2.75 inch shells as well.

My dad shot shotguns for over 40 years before I taught him that and have not met a person that knows that either and have really pissed people off in the blind with that trivia with no way to measure.

Hedshot - all these years - I never measured.  Thanks, I'll use that info for in blind talk.
However a magazine plugged for 2 3.5's should not take more than 2 2.75 shells.
(Need another 1/2" on my gun, just tried)

Not even touching the 1.5 inch shells

It's a trip but makes sense once I found out by accident.  You will have fun in blind talk because some will think your crazy and that loaded shell is 3.5 inches, end of story in their mind.  Just like a good gambler who will tell you they won $200 last night but won't tell you they gambled it all away and another 200 bucks away.  But by gawd they won $200 in their mind.

But yes if your gun in the blind can hold more than two 2.75 inch loads in the magazine it is illegal even if the hunter never plans to use that size.

The first set of shots in the video I saw 4 shots from the camera guy shooting at geese.
Maturity is when you have the power to destroy someone who did you wrong but instead you breathe, walk away, and let life take care of them.

I was going to say the same.

If the magazine can hold more than 2 of anything it's not legal in the field.

The LEO's I've spoke with, use a tester that is measured for the 2.75" shell.
Some use live shells.
Last year, they tested my gun with the 2.75" shells my brother shoots, even tho I showed them I shot 3".
All my plugs are fitted for 2.75".
Never failed a test.
It's not true that I am good for nothing---I can be used as a bad example!!

Just the music is an infraction. This is definitely going to WDFW. Thanks for posting hdshot. We don't need people thinking that's how we roll in WA. That's only how dirtbags roll.

For sure! I doubt much can be done by the law since no face of the shooter was seen.

At the beginning of the video, bright child is posing with his 870.

Jack A$$ ticket warranted...thank you

Taking a guess, but likely locals. Locals always seem to have the mentality that they can just do what they want, when it comes to hunting and fishing. Very self-entitled. Yet they say the Coasties or 206ers are "idiots that come over from the westside to shoot up the place." Shaking my head...

Dang Locals..... :chuckle: Coming from a family that owns land, we have more problems with west side folk by far.....not saying all westsiders are bad. I always try to gather info on tresspassers before identifying myself and asking them to leave. Crazy how the tresspassers mood changes when they reaize who they are taking to. If you wanna see self entitled folks, tagging along on the opening weekend of Mod Deer season will provide plenty of arrogant ignorance.

Pretty obvious infraction's in the waterfowl movie, hope WDFW follows up.

I guessing you have more problems with westside folk, due to westside folk being the majority of the population in Wa State, and eastside folk already have land they can hunt. Just a thought....SMH

I also thought he was going to shoot his dog, then there shooting over the head of the guys laying next to them and not straight up but at a pretty low angle. But the one that really was scary was at the 1:48 mark when he brings the gun up to his right and there's a guy standing in the brush right in front of the barrel, takes the safety off a branch catches the trigger and you have a dead hunting partner. I just hope I've taught my sons better

They are starting to cover their butts with this comment on YouTube. Again they are making up their own laws and are convinced everyone breaks laws and so can they.  But yet they didn't break rules.  I like how he says rules set for you with nothing about him or his friend.  They better hope the law doesn't get their hands on their un edited film like what happened to Foiles.

Joe Johnson said on YouTube,
"I happen to know the guy who made this, and i know not all of his videos were just in Washington State. Some were from manitoba canada and other places where their bag limit is 8 in the early season as well as a few other places. Also, dont sit there and act like youve never taken 5 geese while your buddy shoots 3. I appreciate you guys following the rules set before you, but he did as well. Its a shame some people have nothing better to do but police the videos on youtube rather than enjoying them for the hard work that was put into them."

Therefore the title of the video "Washington State Waterfowl 2013-2014."  Nothing in the title about Canada.

Just some kid doing the bait and switch.  Also doesn't defend the 4 shots but throws out other smoke screens and just glad we are not stupid like JJ is believing everyone will fall for it.  Sorry JJ but 4 shots in Canada is illegal as hell but keep trying to throw it under the rug with hard work.  What a tool.

I've been trying to find a Canadian hunting reg. book.    When I hunted in Saskatchewan it was 3 shells.

Also know in Quebec same rules, and my guess is that the 94 Migratory rules covers all of Canada.
So if so he just confessed to breaking the laws in Canada.
