My own oh so close...
« on: August 09, 2014, 07:22:50 PM »
Here I sit. Earlier had a shot. Bear came in. Quiet as a ghost.  Not a sound. Not a big bear. But a bear. I bring up the gun, he is close,  30 yards at the most. He looks at me, i float cross hairs over his shoulder, finger slides to the trigger, hold, and he bolts.

First sighting. Sun is getting lower. Little more time in this hunt. The trail cam will tell the tale. He was standing right in front of it.

Guess I shoulda' brought the keys.

Meh.

Not a round in the chamber! There goes one of your 7 life's. That bear had you good as dead! Glad it worked out for you and your safe at home with your family. That made me get a little ansie thinking about what could of happened.

Timid little guy...he may have tried to piddle on me. That's about it. I had 4 in the box....In a pinch I'd have clicked, cycled, fired. Not real worried.  It's funny now but would have been embarrassing if I had actually taken the shot. Back out in the am with Carl and his son. I'll be double checking that chamber for sure. Off to bed now. 4 am wake up call.
