I haven't tried any coon... But I imagine it couldn't be to far off from bear.... Same diet in some aspects
That's as bad as eating coyotes.
In certain parts of the country there is a good market for raccoon meat. Seems to be mostly east of the Mississippi. Would not be legal here.
The raccoon meat I have eaten was pretty mild. Ya' might be surprised what you'd eat when your hungry! I wouldn't eat a garbage eating coon unless he was properly purged. I'd eat a clean and properly cooked coon over ANY processed food (pizza, hot pockets, TV diners etc.) and most restaurant food's ANY day. Coon, taters, carrots, onions, salt/pepper to taste, sage, chili powder and a bit of lemon zest in a crock pot. Where does your food originate?
