So....anyone fishing area 9 for humpies intentionally? Hook ups? Trying to watch for the numbers to increase to begin doing some trolling. Lets use this thead for updates on marine areas and even river reports. Bring on the pinks!

I ran one rod at pink depths yesterday at Midchannel. We hit six, landed three, in about two hours.

Thanks....I think this Sunday I may drop a few pots and make a run down by the bar to drag some gear. Hope they don't all come in to early.....we got Salmon for Soldiers at the end of next month. At this rate we may be looking for silvers by then!

My very poor-fisherman brother has been limiting in under an hour nearly every day up on the islands (West side of San Juan). They should be here soon.

Yes, they are super thick in the San Juans. Was up on the west side of SJI last weekend and it was nuts.

Hooked about 40 on the SW side of SJI on Saturday. Got maybe 15 to the boat, kept 7 fat ones. Lots of fun. On the way back to Cornet Bay we saw lots of jumpers coming across the Channel towards Deception Pass. A few have been caught out around Possession lately so I predict large numbers in the Everett area in the next 10 days. I agree, I hope they don't all show too soon, I'm fishing the SFS event at the end of August also. But, if the pinks are that early then the Silvers will probably also be early.

OK, I need to get out there. 2 years ago I was just trying to figure out my boat. This year I should be set and what could go wrong?

I was at Port Angeles last weekend and they were totally thick in the winter hole. We could have easily caught 100 between two of us jigging if I wouldn't have run away from them...they are definitely on the way and I would guess they will be deep in the sound by early august or probably a week earlier then a normal humpy year...hope that helps....Les

None were hooked last weekend near Tacoma...we fished for a couple hours near Ruston...I get this isn't a big area for pinks but throwing it out there...we caught 4 limits of crab in less than 3 hours...mainly because we had a 2 hour soak
