I know, I know, another boot topic. What is your preference and why?

If you're moving around, I don't know of insulation being that much help.  Sitting still is diff.  I think they get wet at about the same speed, but uninsulated dry faster.

For my big game and upland boots I normally look for about 400 grams of insulation.

I prefer uninsulated boots most of the time. My feet just don't get cold, unless I'm sitting still in below freezing temperatures for extended periods of time. And for that, I want a warmer boot than the typical 200 or 400 gram insulated leather boot.

Insulated for me. Almost always 400 grams. I've had frostbite a couple times so my feet get cold really easy.

I don't think I've ever worn insulated hunting boots. Can you tell a big difference when hiking around, like not enough breathability?

Uninsulated-200gram. My feet don't get cold and I can wear heavy socks if it does get extra cold. I hunt the west side, so I might change my preference if I were to hunt a colder climate.

Agree the westside is mild climate but wet I would go uninsulated on the eastside it gets cold and I wear 800gram Danners and my feet will still get a little cold if im not moving around.
