Son got his buck
« on: October 31, 2015, 12:51:00 PM »
My son scored on his blacktail yesterday.  Makes it three for three since he got his hunting license. Hunting Don't get much better than taking your kid out and seeing them harvest a deer.  If your a dad of a young hunter you know what I mean.  Special thanks to "BrownGoinDown" for giving us the opportunity.  Now on to your hunt.

My son hasn't gotten one yet, but I know what you mean. I'm just proud to see him even hunting and giving it his best effort at only 8 years old. Congradulations to your little man!!!!!! Probably even tops the feeling of your first or biggest deer for sure. To him Im sure it was better than an amusement park.

Heck of a buck thats for sure!!! It definitely doesn't get much better, my kids are 17 and 19 now and have whacked deer pretty much every year since they started but my favorite was when my son didn't want to get up and go with me and his little sister, so her and I hunted the spot my son was supposed to hunt and she cracked a dandy two point, big bro didn't stay in bed anymore after that and he bragged to his buddy's what an awesome little hunter his baby sister was... great days

Great deer.  what rifle and caliber and how far was the shot?  I agree, of all the hunting I have done nothing is better than taking your kids.  My daughter is our youngest.  She started hunting at 11 and is 21 now.  We are gearing up to go whitetail hunting for 3 days next weekend.

Ruger American .243 youth.  Not a real expensive gun but for the price it has been a excellent gun.  got his first deer at 9 with it and now 3rd year using it and not any problems.  Did not range the shot but was probably 80-100 yards
