im intersted in possibly trying to figure out some ice fishing on the east side on potholes or soda lake or long lake. Anyone on here go over and do that for walleye and panfish? my buddy has an auger and a tent but he did it in montana and wants to take me. i fish for walleye and bass every spring over there but trying to ice fish sounds fun. thanks

No real ice to speak of yet. You might be okay in a couple of weeks

There's usually a large group of perch fishermen on Lind Coulee (Potholes) and in front of Blue Heron park (Moses Lake).
So far, only the bird baths have frozen up. But there's no perch in there. Wait 2-3 weeks. Besides once things ice over you should wait for the ice to get safe.

yeah i hear you guys on that. if we were to venture over there next month if the ice is solid enough do you think there would be enough guys over there to point us in the general direction of where fish might be? is the mardon store open through the winter as well?

Ya, Mardon store is open year around. You will see the fishermen, either on Lind Coulee or Moses Lake.

If there catching, and there is safe ice, you will know it. Just drive over Moses and look North. Lind coulee arm also. I would be very cautious on soda. I see open water on there when everything else is froze over solid.

Thanks! Just looking to get the boys some action. Never ice fished myself and would love to start something new for them to look forward to in the winter.

Ive fished and been getting Lind and Moses reports. The bite is just not on. Moses bite flashed early Dec and has since died. The past few years have been great so maybe the bite will turn on. I invested in ice rods and a shelter this year and they haven't seen much use.

People have been fishing lind coulee and potholes and the seep lakes, they had holes drilled all over them last week

Yeah the ice is good on lind coulee, 5.5 inches. But the fishing was bad was out there for several hours today with only one bite. There was a lot fishermen there today and not a single perch on the ice.

remember to take your depth finder with you. chip a small crevice in the ice and pour water into the crack and the finder works. mike w
