It looks like wdfw on Facebook admitted it's a wild steelhead.

People are getting too anal about this kind of stuff

Its a damn kid with a fish, she is happy.  That is what we all claim we want is kids to go hunting/fishing.

I believe it is a wild bow, but I don't care if it is a steelhead GOOD for her and GOOD for her parents for taking her fishing.

The problem is the imbedded Libs in State and Federal government that make these stupid rules caving to Enviro wacko groups and pushing their agenda.  Their agenda is to get you off the water and out of the woods and into a Planned Urban Environment in  tax friendly Washington.

I don't know the kid, but this is stupid, I hope she ate with a big slab of butter.  Oh wait butter causes heart problems so lets protect her from that.

Rant over

It's good to see WDFW embarrassed a little.

I suppose I mean that I like they have to admit being human.....the admitted their "mistake" (minor as it may be).  The whole thing makes me smile a little.
We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

I don't think people have a problem with the kid or the fish. The point is, like you said the game department made a stupid rule that they expect us to follow. Then went and posted a picture of someone breaking their dumb rule. I think it's just a shot at wdfw.

Just for conversation,
If a Steelhead smolt, does not go to sea, is it still a Steelhead?
If a Rainbow goes to sea, does it grow up and become a Steelhead?
If an unclipped hatchery steelhead, is released does it morph into a wild steelhead?

 LOL

I don't care. WDFW said they'd talk to the family about an honest mistake. We have a special permits drawing to obsess about. Get a life.
