2016 Booner Mule Deer Mount
« on: September 22, 2018, 07:43:54 PM »
A bit late on posting this, but better late than never! Back in June I got the good news that my Boone and Crockett muley from 2016 from general season in Eastern WA was ready to pick up! Zach at Rainier Taxidermy in Roy did the mount, and let me tell you I could not be happier, pictures are unabe to to this mount justice. When I walked in to the shop to pick this mount up, I was absolutely SPEECHLESS!! The quality of work and attention to detail that him and his crew have is top notch, and they were a pleasure to work with. I would go out there once or twice a month just to hang out and talk with anyone coming in on Friday afternoons. The pedestal was done by a guy named Ryan Marquardson in Glenwood, Utah, he built it with 2 weeks of notice and only $300 and it is top notch! Forever will feel so blessed for this buck, and am so happy with how th mount turned out, its everything I could have dreamed of. Anyways, a big thanks to Zach again and hope you all enjoy this beautiful buck as much as I do and will for my entire life!

Incredible. Do you have more pics of this buck?  I must have missed the write up in 2016. Congratulations.

I agree, that is really awesome looking. Perfect spot in the house right in the corner. That pedestal really looks cool.

Thanks @boneaddict, means a ton coming from a muley guru like you! I almost didn't do the floor pedestal with this mount but about 2 months after I dropped it off at the shop I decided it was what I wanted, so glad I decided to!

Great looking mount. After the drying period did it stay above 190”?

Thanks @Rainier10! also was able to get some more pics to post finally! After the drying period, he gross right at 185" and netted 181 4/8" so he only had 3 1/2" deductions! I guess my scoring was a little off but he still made it into the annual records for Boone and Crockett

From Buckhunter28's writeup:

"...This is my biggest buck to date and I am extremely blessed to have gotten to harvest him. Most of all, I'd like to thank my dad for taking me hunting, teaching me my love and passion for the outdoors and hunting, and I'm so thankful to have such a great father, and be able to spend time and these experiences with him..."

185” is an awesome deer.

The extra photos really show how big that deer is.

Congrats on a great hunt, awesome deer and a beautiful mount that you can enjoy forever.
