Daughter's First Deer
« on: October 14, 2018, 10:18:37 PM »
Just got home, 6 hour drive, and I'm tired so won't write a big story here, but I'm really proud of my daughter, again. She got her first elk about 6 weeks ago, and then today, got a 2x3 mule deer. (3x3 if you want to count the eye guard it had on one side)

We worked pretty hard for this buck. Saw only one other legal buck, a nice whitetail running straight away and never slowed down. Got my daughter up at 4:00 a.m. two days in a row so we could beat other hunters into the very few public land spots.

She made a great 120 yard shot on this buck at 9:15 this morning. Pretty good for only being 12 and her first year hunting killed a nice cow elk her first day hunting and a mule deer on the second day.

That's the good stuff!  Thank you for sharing.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.
