You think anything is going to change. I don’t, what’s the point?

I don’t think they care one bit what we do. They have a agenda and it’s full steam foreword for them.

How much time in your year do you devote to political action?

Doesn't the sale of hunting/fishing licenses and tax on guns and ammo pretty much pay for "wildlife management"? Wildlife doesn't just exist for hunters and fishermen.......also there for people who wish to view and photograph....buuuuuut, the hunters and fishermen pretty much are the ones paying for it. Maybe a one year boycott on buying products that contribute to wildlife programs......licenses, guns, ammo.......would get their attention.

With respect to balancing nature via the presence of predators........you don't need to introduce or reintroduce them, they are already there upon the landscape.......they are called hunters......and they actually help pay for the programs that benefit wildlife. I dunno.....another unsolvable problem.

I regularly go out and photograph during hunting seasons and during the rut when things are closed down. I’ve NOT ONCE run into anyone else doing the same…and I know guys like Doug (boneaddict) and Shawn (popeshawnpaul) do as well.

So how is it that these activists claim to be using “photoraghy” as a part of their “argument”? :dunno:

I have joined any organization that popped up and sent in money. I spread the word every chance I get.

If you mean go to Olympia never. At 72 I am not driving 4-5 hours to stand around with a sign. Which does no good.

Are you posing that question to me? I'm not advocating for people who may wish "to view and photograph"........but have heard the concept that F&G agencies consider wildlife as a shared resource.......shared by hunters in the various seasons and by people who might wish to view and photograph them. Kind of like  what people do in Yellowstone, without the hunting. I, of course, think the top priority should go to hunting since that is what finances the resource.

"Photography" is their "go to" inclusion which is hard for us to dispute with any kind of evidence.

Sportsmen are pretty independent folks.  This is the precipice of the cliff. If they change the mandate we will go the way of California.

How many members here know who their legislators are and have those legislators contact information available and regularly contact legislators about issues?

Contacting/corresponding with democratic legislators is a huge waste of time.  Not voting for them and encouraging others to not vote for them is the only way to MAYBE get results.

I this this depends, Lekenoff in the 40th has plenty of things to disagree with her about but hunting isn't once of them, she also sits on the House Nat Resources Committee.

I left a LENGTHY response on the website he posted it on. It made me download an app and make an account but it's worth it.

Besides canned responses my reps where useless during covid mandates/ state of emergency abuse of power, defund Leo debacle, standard cap mag bans, spring bear cancellation and most recently AR bans...

So I'm not holding my breath they give a rats about the commission's desire to end hunting..

Koontz, like all of you, is just a private citizen who is involved. Imagine if all of us, became as involved.

"Suiting up and showing up" has to become the norm for hunters/anglers as a group. If we don't fight back in meaningful way, these noodleheads will continue steamrolling us.
