2" blazer vanes and braodheads. Your thoughts?

I've been reading and it seems that 4" regular vanes are supposed to offer better flight for a 100gn Muzzy fixed broadhead than a 2" blazer style vane.  Any real world truth to this?

I have great flight with the 2" blazer and 100gr thunderhead. Haven't tried muzzy, but shouldn't be much different. I would say better flight than with 4" IMO

I've only had the blazers so I can't be much help. They fly great with my broadheads though.

Weathergirl shoots blazers with a 100 gr Muzzy, they work well.  I tried Blazers with my setup, same broadhead, and went back to the 4" because they didn't pattern decently for me.  I think it all depends on your bow and how it is set up.

I've shot everything from 5" 4 fletch arrows to 4" 3 fletch with extreme helical and offset, and blazers as well, with Thuderheads, satellites, hoyt broadheads, rocky's and now shoot Sonic broadheads.  I am currently shooting the Goldtip fletched Duravanes and get great flight.  If your bow is tuned correctly and your form is great, your fletch won't make much difference.

I have about half a dozen that need refleched.  They have 4" vanes on them now and I'm happy with my groups but, I wanted to try the heat shrink vanes and I can only seem to find them in a 2" blazer style.

i have shot both i prefer the 2" over four inch. as far as the heat shrink fletching i have a buddy at work that tried them he did not like them at all.  but like others have said if it works for you then stick with it good luck.and if you try the shrink to fit let us know how you like them.

I'm shooting 2" Blazers with 100gr 3-blade Muzzys right now with great flight. Have also used Montecs and had great flight too. From what I've seen, no truth to it.

I have shot 100 gr 4 blade muzzy's, 100 gr 3 blade muzzy's, 100 gr interlocks, 100 gr montecs, and now 85 gr montecs all with blazer vanes on shafts from Axis, A/C superslims, and now FMJ's.. I had great flight with every broadhead / arrow combination.. So I don't think that there is any real truth to the better flight thing with 4" vanes and muzzy broadheads..  I will take a usually a dozen and a half of my arrows and 12 broadheads and start with one broadhead and screw it in to an arrow and spin it to see if it's straight.. If not, I will take the same broadhead and try the next arrow and tighten it down and spin it and see if it's perfectly straight.. No wobbling.. I will continue the process until every broadhead and arrow is straight with no wobbling.. You can make any arrow / broadhead combination fly.. You just have to make sure the arrows are straight, fletched correctly, and most importantly that your bow is tuned! In my arrow tests I found that I had no real problem no matter what arrow / fletching combination I was using, as I spent numerous hours making sure my bow was tuned correctly before hand..

Does anyone else feel the same way?

yep i have shot a ton of vanes and the blazer style vanes. flat a$$ work. i have shot 75 grain heads up to 180 grain heads they work well with all of them. i prefer the vanetec hp, because the base on the blazer vanes is flat and the hp's have a cup shaped base. they really bond nice to the shaft of the arrow. the glue is also more even i have found as well.

I've shot blazers for years and love them.  Blazers where made for broadhead flight.  This year and last year I've shot vantechs.  I have not shot Muzzy broadheads with them but I've shot wac'ems, slick tricks, rockets and have had no problems with blazer type vanes

I grew up in WI and used fletchings instead of veins. When I switched I had a good time trying to get those 4"veins to fly with my muzzy's that I have used for years. I tried the blazers and it helped but still pissed me off. I switched to the slick tricks and blazers and have been very happy
