Spent a few hours out last night on a spot that was starting to get tons of new peels. Got excited when I found my first track.

50 feet down the road and in the next puddle, my excitment turned to disappointment. Time to find a new spot.

Following a few threads on here about Monroe, sounds like some mix reviews so far.

I finally was able to get out today with my son ( we both drew), went in behind lake roesinger, there were quite a few hikers but got away from them pretty quick.  Did a few walks and some scouting, saw a few older peels but nothing too fresh.

I will start hitting it in the evenings this week and report back.

I see H2O has had some luck seeing a few, any body else?

Me and the kid were out today. We had a bear within 80ft. Erret saw it for a second through the brush, but could'nt find it in his scope.  Saw a couple piles of crap in the area also.

went out behind lake roesinger sat, what a nice day. I found what i thought was a perfect habitat. No sign. did lots of glassing. as we were walking back to the truck we looked down a steep wall and out jumped adult lion! we were only sitting about 10 yds from the big cat! yikes. ill be doing some more research and get back out there.

I thought it was a done deal for Errett today, but the bear had a different plan.  :chuckle:

Haven't been out in a few....anyone see anything new? Gotta be plenty of bears on the move. Some hogs coming out of other units...we need to get on the stick and put the metal to the meat.

We went out for 2 hrs tonite. We could hear a bear in the brush about a 100 yds out. We waited till dark, but no deal. My son is getting a little frustrated :chuckle:

Went back out 4 hours Wed midday, 4 hours Thurs evening. Found a new spot w/ 1 week old peels off the edge of the road  and a dried up bear turd, set up the cam, 1-day soak got me a pic of a bobcat.

Other than that... nothing. With all the time I'm puuting in, I'm starting to get discouraged.

I really thought today would be the day. Started out very promising. We pulled into our spot, and Quietly got our things together. We were at the truck for about 10 min getting ready, and then started up the hill to our spot. Last minute I remembered the windows were down, so I went back to roll them up. As soon as I put the key in the ignition the seat belt alarm started donging :bash: That spooked a bear that was about 50ft from us. He blew through the brush at a high rate of speed............ That was the closest we got all day.

That sucks. When stuff like that happens you gotta wonder what did I do to get so close but so far away. Had the same thing happen to me last fall but my killer was a text message.

At least you guys are getting out there, I think my season is done.  A day and a half of hunting, this Spring hasn't gone how I'd hoped....   :(  I might be able to get out the 13th and 15th of June, but I'm not going to count on it.
