I see they are over the shot limit and maybe bag limit, but would that classify them as poachers?  they are breaking rules but it apperares they aren't out of season and legally.  They are breaking rules no doubt... but to call it poaching maybe a little harsh.  I do not condone what they are doing though.  It is still wrong.

poach1   [pohch]  Show IPA
verb (used without object)
1.
to trespass, especially on another's game preserve, in order to steal animals or to hunt.
2.
to take game or fish illegally.

This wasn't an honest mistake of misunderstanding game laws.

Jack A$$ ticket warranted...thank you

Taking a guess, but likely locals. Locals always seem to have the mentality that they can just do what they want, when it comes to hunting and fishing. Very self-entitled. Yet they say the Coasties or 206ers are "idiots that come over from the westside to shoot up the place." Shaking my head...

Dang Locals..... :chuckle: Coming from a family that owns land, we have more problems with west side folk by far.....not saying all westsiders are bad. I always try to gather info on tresspassers before identifying myself and asking them to leave. Crazy how the tresspassers mood changes when they reaize who they are taking to. If you wanna see self entitled folks, tagging along on the opening weekend of Mod Deer season will provide plenty of arrogant ignorance.

Pretty obvious infraction's in the waterfowl movie, hope WDFW follows up.

How does a thread about waterfowl poachers turn into a peeing match between the east and west hunters of the state? Way to band together, gang.  :bash: When does hunting season start again?

Since this is here im gonna ask.If I have a plug in,And i load all 3 3inch  rounds nothing else will fit in it.If these guys have modified it in some way are they not breaking even more serious laws than the 3 round law?

Hunters can modify their shotguns tubes but has to have a plug so the tube can hold no more than two 2 3/4 inch loads.  We hear about this float stuff but do the math with makes their gun illegal.  Also if the warden sneaks up on you and sees 4 in the gun the ticket book will then need your signature.

A legal 12g shotgun for waterfowl can hold up to 3ea 3.5" loads.

1 in the chamber with 2 in the magazine any combination of loads.  I have talked to some who believe they don't need a plug since their un-plugged magazine can't hold 3 3.5 inch loads but that is not the case because their un-plugged magazine can then hold four 2 3/4 inch loads and three 3 inch loads.

I bet there's a different plug for the 2 3/4" guns then. I've never shot them.

Your right but either way the magazine can't hold more than 2 of the 2.75 inch loads.  There are stock magazines that can't hold more than two 3.5 inch loads un-plugged but more than 2 of the shorter loads than seems to cause some confusion I have seen in my past.

If the magazine can hold more than 2 of anything it's not legal in the field.
2 2.75   5.5" mag space needed
2 3.5      7"   Mag space needed
3 2.75    8.25"

No confusion - if it will hold 3 2.75 shells either the plugs been pulled or it needs one.

On old Benellis there was a way to trick things for 4, but that's been fixed.
