I left part of my knees in Idaho over the last two weekends.  Beautiful country but steep.  Saw a great bull in the town of Blanchard...and another in the back of a truck  :chuckle:

3nails,

I believe The Vug is shut down, at least it was last year between Nov. 8th-23rd, 2014 and this June when I was up that way.

Our annual white tail camp will be the 7th thru the 22nd this year.  I will only be in attendance the 7th thru the 11th then have to head home to help my 13 year old with his quality mule deer draw hunt.

Should be an above average year after the mild winter last year.  Good luck everyone
Bummer! Oh well, no takers anyways. Every rut report that I've read so far is predicting an early rut. Most say peak chase activity the 1st through the 11th. You may hit it just perfect!

If this is the case that's great for me...I'm leaving next Friday ...bring on the rut...I've got my rattling antlers all warmed up :IBCOOL:

We went up on the 9th got camp ready. Hunted the next 5 days with one bull down. Nice spike. Went back to town for a day to get supplies. No luck the next few days. Gave it 2 days to settle down a bit and me and one of my hunting partners went back up to camp. Next morning we both went diff spits and both tagged out on 5 pt bulls. Awesome way to end the hunt. I saw a total of 5 bulls thru the season. One pushing 350. Just cldnt get it done. Another pushing 320. Guess I'll get em next year.

Nice job, way to stick with it.  It was a tough year for us over there, 2 spikes out of 3 guys.

Pioneer zone archery, tag soup. Had my chance(s), can't complain too much. Bro in law and buddy just got blanked for deer in units 33/34.

This week in Idaho, I pulled over on a narrow road to let a local jalopy drive past.

"Go back to Warshint'n in yer fancy truck!"  He growled as he clattered and banged up the rocks.  :chuckle:

I didn't know a 2000 Dodge Ram was a fancy truck.  After forking over $500 to hunt deer and wolf in Idaho, the least he could say is thank you  :chuckle:
