My cousin and I just filled both our tags for spring bear. After seeing 43 bears we got one the first day and the last one on the last day of a 7 day trip.

Got my first bear yesterday evening. Picture isn’t great. I was too worried about getting it skinned and packed out to pose for pictures. It was a crazy warm evening. Nice older boar. His teeth are worn down to almost nothing.

But how long was the trip and did you see a lot of bears?

Guess I missed that.
Sometimes you only see one bear...take what you can get I guess.

Saw 4 on a quick weekender. Blew on the R&R call and brought a nice chocolate & blonde bear into 300 - where I promptly sent 2 over his back, only then realizing I had moved a lot closer than I thought since the last time I ranged the hill. First big game animal I’ve sent lead at that I haven’t put my hands on. Headed back out next week for a few more days and hopefully redemption.

My first Washington spring bear down, successful solo 2 day weekend warrior hunt, and second time in the permit area which was my second choice. Spotted this bear this bear at 9 am after a short hike from camp, 330 yards down across the draw, excited + not going to be picky with limited hunting time (family & work), one shot at little over 300 yards, dead on impact with the 220 grain Hornady ELD-X out of my 300 RUM, and one heavy pack out trip back to camp by 12:30. Made it back home late Saturday night and my girlfriend had all the meat cut up Sunday morning. Headed to the taxidermist to rug it so my girlfriends cinnamon bear rug will have a friend and will enjoy the memory of my first spring bear.
