I've went through many pairs of Danner boots.  I've never owned a pair that didn't leak after six months.  These have all been top model boots such as the Trophys, Canadians, Predators, and Grouse models.  I tried a pair of Kenetreks when they first came out, and I doubt I will ever switch to any other boot.

Danner does have excellent customer service and will definitely make it right on their top models.  I posted on another thread that I own a pair of Trophys and have had them at least 10 years.  Have had them rebuilt twice and they have never leaked.  I wore the soles off them both times.  The last time was a total rebuild with the only thing not replaced being the leather.

I would love to try some Kenetreks but I am not about to drop $350 on a pair of boots I can't try on first.  Nowhere around here carries them.

Let us know if you are interested in trying a pair of Kenetreks, Zamberlan, or LOWA.  We will exchange or refund your money if you are not happy with them.  http://www.lintonoutdoors.com

For a guy with a narrow foot which boot would you recommend.
I sent an E-mail to the web site that you attached then thought why not just ask right here.
I wear a size 8B.in all my boots.

well, i almost forgot what pieces of chit my danner pronghorns were. first day out was dry and sunny, but the dew on the ground had my so called waterproof boots and feet wet in less than 20 minutes. the goretex they claim to have in them must be in the show laces. they are comfortable, but absolutely do not use anywhere wet.

My redwing Irish setters I bought for this hunting season lasted a month of breaking in and they are already falling apart. You get what you pay for.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Danner had gone down the tube in as far as quality goes.  I lived in Portland for 30 years, and used to go to the factory and get their seconds for half price.  I got a pair of Ft Lewis "Go Devil's" back in 1987 and they are still leak free today.  I bought some of the low end China models in the recent past, all of which are junk.  I wore Danner wading boots for years, and some stitching came out on a side panel.  I contacted their customer service to see about a repair and they told me they were 6-8 weeks out.  It took a guy at the Factoria Mall exactly 15 minutes, and $9.00 to fix the problem.  I emailed Danner back and gave them a piece of my mind, and asked if we could please have the "old" Danner back.  There was a day when I wouldn't have considered any other brand.  That day had come and gone.
Nothing witty here.... move along.

I've gotten 6 years out of my current Danner's. Had to go get one of the seams re sued on them last week but other than that they are still going strong.

I have pronghorns, arcadia's and Ft. Lewis.  Never had a problem with them leaking.  Well that is until I wear a hole through the bottoms.  I just make sure to take care of the leather.  When the sole wears out I just go have a new sole sewn on.  My arcadia's are on there third set of tread, 2nd on the pronghorns.

Danner's are not what they used to be.  In my opinion they are not built at the standards of old.  I will never buy another Danner boot.  I personally like Vasque for light weight hikers and will be purchasing a higher end boot once I do not have to pay for my two kids college educations.

:yeah:

The last ones I got were Pronghorns.  Nice, light weight, comfortable, wore 'em 3 times, had probably 20 miles on them, first time in the wet they leaked.  The pair of Danners I had prior to those lasted about a year then they fell apart and leaked.  The pair before that lasted quite a while until I flat wore them out.  Oh yeah, and they don't make a 12 1/2 sized boot.  >:( At least I could never find one and that's what a sales rep told me.

The QA/QC dept there must be hiring minimum wage people....

I'm done with Danners.

I can also say I am done with Danners.  I have elk hunters and also pronghorns and will only wear the pronghorns when it is bone dry out.  Leak like crazy and the elk hunters are so dam hot my feet sweat unless its extremely cold out!  Very confortable boots but not worth the money in my opinion!   Gonna try out the kenetrek boots on the next round!

I also wore Danners for years but finally got tired of paying that kind of money for boots that leaked after one season.I went to the Meindl perfekt and I am very happy that I did.
