My son (11 at the time) and I shot a buck about 25 yards away, then had some turkey taking pot shots at us from 350 yards. He unloaded his gun at the buck, & we had bullets and rocks flying all around us. The buck was hurt bad by our shot, so soon as the guy ran out of shells I ran over there and dumped him for good. Then the guy had the balls to truck down the hill to try to claim the buck. By then, I had it gutted & tagged. There are all kinds of nut cases out there. I got held at gunpoint by a rifle hunter over a 4pt buck that I found laying in the woods, ungutted. I gutted the buck out, since nobody showed up for 2 hours. I guess the guys wife shot it and didn't know what to do, so she left it in the woods. So the guy accused me of stealing last year's buck and the year before that. Stuck his loaded 7mm in my gut and made me empty my pants. I didn't even want the damn buck. Told him to take it. Congrats, nutcase! All that is why I switched to black powder or stick to the highest hills. Seems like the terrain deters guys like that. Most guys I meet up in the rocky hills are pretty darned good men.Sorry to hear about your buck, but you did the right thing.
ATVs have nothing to do with this story. It's the guys who stole the deer and that's it.
I hear you, but killing or being killed over a deer..........that sounds pretty silly.
I'm a rook and I'm glad I decided to bow hunt ....... Sorry to hear that man, I don't understand some people.Quote from: PBR on October 22, 2011, 10:44:16 PMYou handled it better than I would have. At the minimum they would of been buying new tires.LMAO
