I'm looking for more room in cab so it will be a quad cab no matter what...I don't want a long bed....that's where I'm torn....I like the Toyota for the smaller logging roads and turn radius...but the full size for the room I may just have to search for a good deal on a Tacoma quad cab...almost everyone I have found in my price range has had 170k + miles on it
i really like my '05 Tundra Double Cab but there IS one thing... the traction control system. Last week I got into some gnarly mud on a steep hill. the traction control system kept braking the wheel that was spinning, resulting in loss of momentum and i was stuck. You can't turn it off and it's very annoying. wanna spin the tires in the rain for fun? can't do it. took a 4wd tractor to pull me out. other than that, i love it!

I can turn it off in my Chevy pickup though...if I think about it before it's too late.

What is your budget? have you considered a 1st generation Tundra (2000-06)? I get 17 miles per gallon in mine, and that's mostly highway miles. 4wd is pretty decent and it takes bumpy roads quite well. For the double cab, I think you'll have to stick to years 04-06, or maybe 05-06. I think 03 and earlier they just had the access cab and regular cab. Mine has 265,000 miles and runs like a top. Come see me when you get that in a domestic.
