Found dear with arrow in it
« on: October 02, 2021, 07:17:47 PM »
Kinda of a shot in the dark
Got a buck outside of Ellensburg today
He had a arrow in him
Just thought I’d try to let whoever know he did not go to waist

Nice do you have any pics of the other arrow? Just curious what you found. Where was it shot in the body?

Good job relieving his misery. Looks like someone going for a TX heart shot, or a long shot and the animal turned while the arrow was on its way. Man, those animals are tough.

I'm not understanding what I'm looking at, is that a crossbow bolt or a two piece arrow?  Or did you cut the aroow removing it?

Is it a small game head?  What's the "wires"?

I think it's a fishing arrow.
Wires in tip and arrow is 2-piece for easy removal.

Glad you got the buck. IMO someone tried to use improper equipment for legal archery hunting

I really don’t see how they expected that to kill it even if it was a well placed shot that tip would not of killed it, at least not anytime soon. Was this near houses at all? I wonder if somebody thought there bird tip would just bounce off its butt while it was eating their garden or something? Glad you put him out of his misery

To be clear
It wasn’t that point, just similar barbs
But the point wasn’t sharp. I pushed it on my finger to see if it was

I could have done a better job at looking at. Once deer was down I had one track mind to get the 3 mile walk and drive home out of the way. Made plans to bear hunt this evening but didn’t get chores done

It kinda looks like someone was bow fishing, and tried to illegally take a buck with an unethical shot.  *censored*!   >:(
Probably wasn't in archery season.

Maybe the person figured 100 yards of braided fishing line was all they need to track the deer?

Rumor has it that the big ol rubber blunt tip will slip between the ribs. So catch and release is not a good idea either.

What kind of shape was the deer in? Was he getting around ok, acting normal, or sick looking/acting?

DEER ON!   be a heck of a battle on a sturgeon rod

There was an internet cartoon some years ago where a guy explains that his wife had him switch from hunting, as it was inhumane, to fishing instead.  He said he didn't really get that, but went along and switched from expensive hunting gear to expensive fishing gear and so on.  In the end, he reels in a monster buck and then clubs the crap out of it.  He said his wife was much happier that he had changed to fishing......
May that for which I prepare never come to pass.

He seemed fine.
