Cast a red and white Daredevil into the schools that are rolling on top. Fish on

They ain't fresh springer or fat-dripping ocean king or prime fresh coho, but they are salmon and still really good when fresh and cared for properly.

And most importantly, when in Rome...

EXACTLY!

 :yeah:

I eat them fresh, smoke some and can the rest when I catch them faster than I can eat them.  So, pretty much like any other salmon.

It's like saying  a sirloin steak is nowhere near wagyu prime rib so don't even bother.

Right on brother.  Eat, smoke, can.  Simple formula.

Unless you fill your freezer with wagyu prime rib. The the lesser steaks don’t find their way out of the freezer…

I don’t eat frozen pinks, those get canned or smoked. But I’d eat fresh, same day pink over any frozen coho (and most frozen kings) any day.

I will put my filets on a cookie sheet in the freezer, then glaze them before vacuum packing. They will keep for years in almost fresh condition, just fine for grilling.

This rain should get them moving.  I'm thinking the next few days will be lights out.

We caught 2 today south of Edmonds! We were not even targeting them. Going in the smoker in the morning.

We will be "those" guys on a pontoon. Gonna run to 9, cruise around looking for schools held up on the outgoing tide. Blind cast and see what happens.
